If you own your own business you know how important marketing materials are. As a designer and photographer I decided that I didn’t want something that was “run of the mill” or “ordinary” to promote my business with. When deciding what I wanted to use many factors came into play. I wanted something bigger than a business card. I thought about a postcard but price was an issue and so was size. I came upon bookmarks which i thought was a cool double use and it was smaller… but not too small. It presented an awkward size to display a picture and text. After some brain storming I realized i had the perfect photo that made sense with the size of the card. Overall I like how they turned out and should work great with my promotional ideas.

Detroit Tigers Game

The Tigers are an awesome team and while we didn’t win they played a great game. We got great seats so i was able to get some good pics of the players. They hit quite a few fly balls and while us girls were ducking the guys were leaping at the chance to catch a ball! Unfortunately they were unsuccessful….I think next time they will bring their mits!

A Visit to Cranbrook

We spent the morning at Cranbrook just wandering around outside taking pictures. What a beautiful place……I wish I could have gone to school there. The architecture reminded me of Europe in a way and the statues and fountains were amazing. I even managed to catch a pic of a bee on a flower.

Last week the sunset was absolutely beautiful!. And for the first time my bf said, ” Hey look at the sun lets take some pictures.” I was down and was so happy he finally wanted to model for me. We only had about 45min left of good light so I snapped away and tried some new things….I was pleasantly surprised.

TREK does Agility!

Trek is a beautiful Australian Shepard. He belongs to one of my friends Nan who trains him to run agility. He is so smart and at 11 months is already listening and running the course like a pro! While he works hard for his mom at agility is he such a sweet heart when he takes a break and comes over for some petting. Check this guy out!

The Lodge

I went to this new park last week….well new to me anyway. There was this amazing old building there that reminded me of Europe. It’s a Lodge that was built in 1920, was burned down and then rebuilt in 1921. I wish I knew more about it and what it was used for. Anyway, it was all boarded up but was one of those places that you just have to take pictures of. It had the most amazing brick arches and in the very corner a little drinking fountain. It turned out to be a great place to take architectural shots. I even got one of my bf…..he didn’t want his picture taken, but I managed to get a smile out of him!

Wow….. so the holidays flew by. I love them but they are busy. I love spending time with family and getting together with friends. And eating holiday treats as well….and boy am i feeling them now. Anyway, I took lots of family photos over the holidays…..but I also caught our little furry friends having some fun as well…..lol! They are a lot of fun to take pics of but boy do you have to be fast. I have managed to capture some fun ones of mine and a friends cute little kitty cats.

Tillson Street……

Out in Romeo Michigan there is this little street called Tillson. It is filled with some very cool old historical homes. Every year these homes are decorated to the hilt for Halloween, and i mean decorated!! One home actually builds their own props each year. I have never seen decorations like these. I went during the day but I guess the best time to go is at night when everything comes alive! I can’t believe I hadn’t heard about this sooner……anyway got some great pictures!
